Wollondilly Active Transport Strategy

Supporting active transport opportunities in Wollondilly to create tangible social, health and environmental benefits for the community.

We are developing an Active Transport Strategy to encourage the adoption of sustainable and active transport modes. As the region’s population and transport demands grow active transport will play a more important role in how we move around.

Active transport mainly refers to walking and cycling, but can also include running, skate-boarding, riding a scooter and rollerblading as examples other active modes of transport.

The Strategy will be an overarching road map for active transport planning and infrastructure in the region and will consolidate and complement existing plans and strategies such as the Wollondilly Bike Plan (2019).

The Strategy will aim to:

  • improve community physical and mental health through increased use of active transport modes,
  • reduce traffic congestion by making it easier to choose active transport as an alternative to cars, and
  • deliver positive environmental outcomes by reducing vehicular pollution.

We want to hear from you about how active transport in Wollondilly can be improved to better meet community needs. The feedback collected will help us develop the initiatives and recommendations within the Strategy.

If you are interested in contributing to the development of the Active Transport Strategy please complete a short survey and check out our interactive places map where you can drop a pin on any location and tell us what you think about active transport in that area or what you want to see in the future.

  • This survey has concluded. Thanks for your interest.

We want to hear from you!

We are developing an Active Transport Strategy to encourage the adoption of sustainable and active transport modes. As the region’s population and transport demands grow, active transport will play a more important role in how we move around.

Help us gain an understanding of how you use active transport in Wollondilly and some of the barriers you might face. We want to know what types of active transport infrastructure or improvements you would like to see in the future. For example, you might like to see a new cycling track around a park or lake you love or a new shared cycle path to your place of employment. The feedback we receive from these surveys will inform the initiatives and recommendations within the Strategy and guide the creation of an active transport network that better meets the needs our community and visitors.

Please complete this survey by Friday 31 July 2020.

Thank you for helping us understand how we can improve active transport in your community!
