Wollondilly needs a reliable taxi service
i am a person with vision impairment. I am legally blind in my right eye and 6 on 15 in my left and thus I cannot drive.
I am currently a resident of Picton. I work at Ingleburn as an Accountant
Countless times I have called Premier Cabs for a cab from picton railway station only to be told that there were no cabs in the area.
This includes late Friday nights when people should be using the shire's pubs and clubs. (Hmm I wonder how many drink drivers are out there due to the very little taxi service....).
Ever Since Camden Wollondilly Cabs were sold off to Premier Cabs we have had problems of an evening. I understand the taxi drivers are now independent contractors and are going to where the money is. I do not blame them for this problem.
I very much dislike having to rely on family and friends to get home from the station. I want my independence and I cannot currently say I have that whist living in the Wollondilly.
People currently understand that the local taxi service is abysmal and therefore will not book taxis leading to a statistical decrease in demand and therefore no one wants to supply the taxi service. We need a reliable taxi service and have it advertised so that demand will (and I definitely believe it will) Increase.
As for my train gripes they pale in comparison to this.
Kind Regards
