No Parking at Douglas Park Station

For years we have put up with no commuter parking at Douglas Park station. Recently, rather than parking, we got No Parking signs in the main street. This station is used by Wilton residents as well as Douglas park residents, and surrounding properties. Travellers include school and Uni students, workers trying to get to the city and those going to Bowral or Macarthur for medical appointments or shopping. The vacant block next door to the station should be, in part, resumed and a proper paved parking area put in. I have raised this issue before and been told not to worry about all the medium density housing proposed for the vacant site, as there is State rail land available for parking, but anyone who has bothered to look, knows there is only a narrow fenced off materials storage area, right next to the actual tracks.The area is in regular use by State rail, and even if it was repurposed, it would provide negligible parking. With the huge housing development at Wilton and much more planned for the area, it is ridiculous that commuter parking is not available. We have a train line, we need to be able to use it.
