Can you widen the road?
Unfortunately, the steepness of the land around the road (and the narrowness of the historic road corridor) make it cost prohibitive to widen or upgrade the road.
Has guardrail been considered?
The narrowness of the road means that, in most locations, guardrail cannot be installed without significant widening.
What does the repair funding cover?
Council is accessing Natural Disaster Funding to repair the land slippages and road reconstruction in locations damaged during storm events, but the funding doesn’t cover general upgrades to the road.
