How does it work?

    • Identify the tree (or group of trees) you want to nominate as significant
    • Check to see which category it would fit (E.g. Outstanding Visual or Aesthetic Significance etc.)
    • Complete the form with information both about the tree, and yourself so we can contact you about it
    • We will acknowledge your nomination
    • Nominated trees will be assessed against the Tree Significance Criteria by an expert panel. Trees meeting the criteria will be added to the Register
    • We will contact you with the outcome.

    What happens next?

Following this round of nominations, we will establish the Register – initially with trees on public land. Once the Register is endorsed, we will conduct a second round of nominations for trees on private land, after which we will continue to accept nominations on an ongoing basis.

What happens if I miss this first round of nominations?

We will conduct another round of nominations after Significant Tree Register  is established. After that, nominations will continue to be accepted on an ongoing basis.
