Information Sessions on Drone Program

Wollondilly Shire Council has approved its Drone Policy, and we have now set up a Drone Program to assist with:

  • natural disaster monitoring
  • asset, vegetation and environment monitoring
  • waste management monitoring
  • capturing events.

Council is running two information sessions to provide the community with more information about the program and how the drone will be used by Council. There will be a presentation ahead of a Question and Answer time at each session.

  • Date: 30 March 2020 POSTPONED
  • Time: 9:30am – 11:30am or 5:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Venue: Council Gallery, 62-64 Menangle Street, Picton

The Drone Policy has been designed to ensure Council's drone program operates safely and respects all relevant laws. The Drone Program itself is designed to assist and improve council's efficiency in areas including

  • assets and land management
  • infrastructure maintenance
  • waste and vegetation management
  • compliance
  • planning
  • events
  • law enforcement.

The draft policy was on public exhibition from 9 October until 6 November 2019, with submissions accepted until November 20.

The policy was available at:
