Updating Warragamba Open Space Master Plan

Wollondilly Shire Council adopted an Open Space Master Plan (OSMP) for Warragamba in 2022, which was drafted and refined in consultation with user groups and the local community.

The Warragamba OSMP includes recreation facilities and open space of the West Precinct (Waterboard Oval and area), East Precinct (Warragamba Sportsground and area) and the central civic area.

Council has obtained grant funding from the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program (formerly known as WestInvest) for improvements including:

West Precinct:

  • 4 x Netball Courts
  • New amenities building extension
  • 2 x full size soccer fields, with the option of a cricket pitch
  • Car parking

East Precinct:

  • Long-jump / triple-jump x 3 at the Warragamba Sportsground.

Proposed Updated Layout

We are working with consultants on the detailed design, and have an opportunity to improve the layout in the Master Plan’s West Precinct (Waterboard Oval area). This would ensure the best use of this community space by:

  • Consolidating the netball courts to maximise lighting efficiency and minimise tree loss
  • Redirecting vehicles away from centre of the site to maximise efficiency and safety
  • Protecting a culturally sensitive area and revegetating with locally native species.

Take a look and let us know your thoughts on the proposed updated layout for the West Precinct.
