More Flexible Train Times and Lines
I am a secondary school student currently studying at a college in the area. As my years of secondary education are coming to an end, the plans for university and TAFE are always being spoken of. The train is not very reliable for transportation to and from places as the times are not very flexible, the trains are old fashioned and quite slow. The issue is with the scheduling, it needs to be more flexible and efficient; people have responsibilities such as work and schooling and if you miss one train, the next train is roughly around a couple hours time. Also, I heard that there has been talk of cutting the train lines for Picton, Tahmoor, etc and I truly hope that is not the case because for some residents; driving is not an option. Public transport is something which should be reliable at the core, it is dependent on heavily - especially in a rural town like Picton and Tahmoor. In my past years of travelling to modernised countries such as Singapore, the public transport is astonishing and it truly makes Australia's incomparable. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) process is so practical and efficient that business women and men take it to their work, so much so that cars are not relied upon. The times are extremely fast and if you miss one train, the next is in less than five minutes. For such a big country like Australia, it needs to be adopted!! The same type of structure is near the inner city (Sydney), and I question why the same has has not been applied to all parts of New South Wales? Australia needs to be urbanised in transport and the excuse for keeping the 'rural' atmosphere/environment/heritage is not acceptable. This can be applied to the roads in the area as well! Please do implement a survey for the Wollondilly area in assessing the road qualities - it needs to be fixed instead of being excused - it is an act of laziness.
