Picton Town Centre Transport Plan

The town of Picton is growing; it's a key destination in Wollondilly and a major thoroughfare for commuters coming and going in the Shire.

Council undertook an investigation into the current and future transport needs for Picton, to ensure measures are in place to allow for smoother and safer traffic flow now and into the future. We spoke with the community in April 2019 to let them know about the planned changes in the Draft Picton Town Centre Transport Plan - thank you to everyone who provided feedback.

The finalised Plan was approved by Council on August 19, 2019, with amendments regarding the Lumsdaine-Argyle Street intersection, and the Menangle-Prince Street intersection. See the online Council report (Item 12.4 on p. 41) for more information.

Funding has also been received from Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) for the relocation of the pedestrian crossing on Argyle Street, for the current financial year. Works are underway on the detailed design. This will be the first of the adopted improvement works to be constructed under the Picton Town Centre Transport Plan 2026.

We look forward to improving traffic conditions in Picton.
