What is active transport?

Active transport is a NSW Government initiative to promote active methods of transportation such as walking and cycling.

Constructing dual use shareway footpaths allow residents to undertake activities such as ride to school or walk to the shops in a safer manner.

    Is this project design only?

Council has received funding to undertake a concept and detailed design of the proposed shareway. Once the design is complete, this will allow Council to apply for future funding from the State Government to allow the project to be constructed.

Council recently finished construction of 200m of shareway from Picton High to Wonga Rd.

When will the path be constructed?

At this early stage it would be unrealistic to suggest dates for construction. The proposed shareway project will be dependent on receiving future funding and will need to be staged over a number of years.
