    Goals:

    • Connecting green spaces to form a linked garden
    • Cars on the edge – people at the heart
    • A well connected accessible town centre
    • Connecting the town centre and the station
    • A town connected to its past and adding new layers for its future
    • Connecting people and businesses digitally


    Principle 2: Living Garden

    Goals:

    • Establish Picton Parklands as the green heart of the town
    • Enhance and expand active and passive open space’
    • Establish Picton as an open space destination
    • Create places for play and places for respite and escape
    • Establish distinct gateways into Picton that delineate the town from rural curtilage
    • Create a healthier Picton


    Principle 3: Resilience

    Goals:

    • Develop a resilient Picton
    • Acknowledge the constraints of the town and embrace them – convert to opportunities
    • Plan for the future
    • Establish a visual identity for the Picton
    • Maintain a visual connection between the town, the natural environment and key heritage items
    • Maintain a fine grain

    Goals:

    • Ensure art and cultural is ‘visible’ in the public domain
    • Develop a network of anchors and destinations to create a functional town centre
    • Provide a safe and welcoming public domain
    • Establish a digitally connected landscape
    • Develop and nurture a visitor economy
