The Picton Place Plan will provide the blueprint for Council’s vision for Picton as a cultural, community, heritage and government centre for Wollondilly Shire. Picton is at an important cross road with its role rapidly evolving as the Shire grows.
The Plan helps identify and define the future role of Picton. Picton has traditionally been the administrative centre for Wollondilly. The Plan supports the continuation and enhancement of Picton’s role into the future with the new community, cultural and civic precinct acting as the town centre hub.
The Picton Place Plan also provides a strong model for the development of future place plans for other towns and villages in Wollondilly Shire. Council will continue to consider the funding of infrastructure projects across the entire Shire as part of Council’s budgeting process and an important part of that is to establish a clear and cohesive vision.
The Picton Place Plan will provide Council and the community with a shared vision for the town and guide the delivery of future programs, events and infrastructure projects. It will also ensure that the emerging Picton town centre has a vibrant, strong community, cultural and civic centre for the existing and future residents of Wollondilly.

Read the draft Picton Place Plan. The Plan includes an overarching vision; four supporting principles; goals related to each principle; and implementation options to achieve the goals. Maps and illustrations help clarify the ideas and bring them to life.
Consider: Do you support the Plan? What do you think the Plan does well? Is there anything you don't agree with? Is anything left out? Etc.
Identify the ideas you want to comment on. It can be as much or little as you like, but please be clear.
Submit your comments: Either write your submission separately and upload it as a Word file or PDF, or, type your submission into the text box provided.
We know you and your community have provided Council with lots of ideas. We are taking those ideas and weaving them into this Place Plan.
We are also seeking some targeted information that will fill the gaps in our research, particularly to gain insight into how COVID-19 has changed your town.
