Wollondilly Council has approved the new ward boundaries for the Shire, and the NSW Electoral Commission has formally adopted them..
This means that Wollondilly will now have two wards (East and North) in time for the next Council election, instead of three wards (East, Central and North).
The changes were made as a result of a referendum held at the most recent Council elections in 2016. The results showed that Wollondilly wanted a popularly elected mayor, and fewer wards.
Thank you to those who provided feedback on our draft boundaries.
Next steps The new ward boundaries have been sent to the Australian Electoral Commission to enable an update of the electoral roll.
