FAQs
What are the implications of dedicating community land as a public road?
Dedicating the land as public road will allow an all-weather accessway into the park. Currently vehicles access the site for activities such as mowing, maintenance, seed collection, planting days, and collecting plant material for wildlife in care. The current access for vehicles is weather dependant.
What are the future enhancements / options for the park?
Embellishment and options will be put to Council following further community consultation. In order to progress with future options, a stabilised appropriate access has to be first secured - which is the main reason for this consultation.
When will I be able to have my say on what should happen at Tahmoor Park?
Council will undertake further community engagement on the future use of Tahmoor Park, provided a stabilised appropriate access is secured. Please provide your contact details if you would like to be involved so we can contact you in future.
What is a public hearing?
A public hearing is the opportunity for community members to discuss the draft Plan of Management for Tahmoor Park and have questions answered. It also provides the opportunity for community members to speak in favour of or against the Community land at Tahmoor Park being categorised as 'Park' land.
The public hearing will be run by an independent facilitator: Sandy Hoy from Parkland Planners.
When is the public hearing?
The public hearing will be held at Robin Davies Wollondilly Community Nursery Wonga Rd Picton on Tuesday 14 October at 6pm.
