Thank you for your feedback on the draft design for the dirt jump redevelopment at Tahmoor DNA BMX Park.
The design was finalised in May 2023 and the dirt jumps are now open for use. We listened to the feedback and updated the design:
We will retain the 2 existing Advanced lines
The redevelopment/upgrade of the Advanced lines can be subject to a future stage should funding be secured
The return line will be two-way
The Beginner and Beginner/Intermediate lines will feature more filled in gap jumps to support skill progression and confidence with riding jumps
The Intermediate line will feature a combination of gaps and filled in gap jumps with the landers being taller than the take offs
Lips and landings will be new and therefore more functional than the existing
The redevelopment of the Beginner to Intermediate lines is focused on bringing more people to the sport of bike-riding. The addition of filled in gaps makes the jumps more progressive for people to improve and challenge themselves as their skill level and confidence grows
Filled in gaps between jumps helps reduce soil erosion and is more sustainable.
Please check out the revised design!
Funding
This project is funded by the NSW Government's Places to Play program.
The Places to Play program helps to increase equitable access to public open space through a $16.7million investment in projects that provide for adventure, nature and water based play activities such as mountain biking, scooter and skate places and pump tracks.
Places to Play supports investment in nature and water playspaces to promote recreation and connection with nature for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Open for Use August 2023
