Proposed Rezoning - Moreton Park Road Employment Land
Preliminary Consultation
Council has received a draft Planning Proposal seeking to rezone land along Moreton Park Road, Douglas Park for a combination of commercial / retail and general industrial land uses. The draft Planning Proposal outlines that the proposed rezoning will ultimately yield over 14,000 local jobs for Wollondilly.
The proposed changes include:
- Rezone the land from Rural Landscape (RU2) zone to Enterprise (SP4) and Environmental Conservation (C2)
- Remove the minimum lot size (MLS) of 40ha for the Enterprise (SP4) land
- Introduce new site-specific provisions that address:
- The C2 Environmental Conservation land
- Mining operations
- Preservation of a transport corridor
It is important to note that Council officers have not yet assessed this draft Planning Proposal, nor has the elected Council considered or formed a view.
We are now seeking community feedback prior to the proposal being assessed and being reported to the Local Planning Panel and Council. These assessment reports will include community feedback received during this preliminary notification period.
To help guide the Planning Proposal process and ensure the right jobs are provided in the right locations, Council would like to hear your thoughts on key elements of the concept.
The draft Planning Proposal is open for preliminary consultation from Friday 19 September 2025 to Friday 17 October 2025.
