North Wilton Draft Neighbourhood Plan

North Wilton Neighbourhood Plan

Comments are now closed on the North Wilton Draft Neighbourhood Plan No. 1.

A Neighbourhood Plan is similar to a land use Master Plan prepared prior to lodgement of a Development Application – it provides planning detail of a given area or neighbourhood. The North Wilton draft Neighbourhood Plan No. 1 is the first Neighbourhood Plan for Wilton Growth Area submitted to Council.

Landcom, the NSW Government’s land and property development organisation, is the proponent of the project. They are aiming for a 6 Star Green Star Community rating which demonstrates global standards of liveability, resilience, inclusion, affordability and environmental quality, certified by the Green Building Council of Australia, for North Wilton.

The Neighbourhood Plan No. 1 is for 750 dwellings with a range of lot sizes and includes local facilities such as a school, playing field, and public open spaces.

The Neighbourhood Plan, once adopted, will provide guidance for future development applications for the area covered by the Plan.

To help guide the Neighbourhood Plan and ensure we plan a place where people can live happily and healthily, Council would like to hear your thoughts on key elements of the concept, including:
  • how the Neighbourhood Plan responds to the area’s natural features, including water (billabongs, streams and waterfalls)
  • how the road, cycle and pedestrian networks connect people to their neighbourhood and beyond
  • the provision of local facilities and infrastructure, including a school, public open space and playing fields.
