Government Services Building Planning Proposal

The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment has finalised the Government Services Building Planning Proposal for land at 6 Colden Street, 42 Menangle Street (part), and 62-64 Menangle Street (part), Picton.

Consequently, an amendment was made to the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 (WLEP 2011) on Wednesday 22 December 2021. This amendment increased the building height control for the site from 9m to 16m.

The purpose of the amendment is to enable the development of a new Government Services Building, which forms part of the wider Wollondilly Cultural Precinct. The site is located at the rear of the existing Wollondilly Shire Council Administration Services Building and is currently in use as a public car park.

As Wollondilly Shire Council is both the owner of the site and was the proponent for the Planning Proposal, Keylan Consulting was engaged by Council to undertake an independent assessment of the Planning Proposal to ensure an independent and transparent process.

The Planning Proposal was on public exhibition from 15 June 2021 to 13 July 2021.
