Gas Scare Gun Policy

Adopted November 2021

Wollondilly Council adopted the Gas Scare Gun Policy at its meeting in November 2021.

The purpose of the Policy is to define operational guidelines for the use of gas scare guns within Wollondilly Shire to protect the amenity of rural areas, and to reduce potential environmental impacts.

Council recognises that the use of scare guns is a normal part of undertaking many agricultural enterprises and that hearing them is part of living in a rural landscape. We support the rights of primary producers to use scare guns, so long as their use is consistent with this policy.

The Draft Gas Scare Gun Policy was on public exhibition from Wednesday 30 June to Wednesday 11 August 2021.
