Planning Proposal To Rezone Land at The Oaks

Council has received a draft Planning Proposal for land in The Oaks.

This proposal seeks to rezone land from RU2 – Rural landscape to part R5 Large Lot Residential and part RU2 Rural Landscape for residential development. If supported, the proposal would provide the delivery of nine (9) lots with a minimum lot size of 4,000m2.

Location

The Draft Planning Proposal affects the following land:

  • 80 Silverdale Rd, The Oaks (Lot 3 DP 1201486)

Proposed Amendments

The Draft Planning Proposal seeks to make the following amendments to Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011:

  • Amend the Land Zoning Map from RU2–Rural landscape to part R5 Large Lot Residential and part RU2 Rural Landscape.
  • Amend the Minimum Lot Size Map to introduce a minimum lot size of 4,000m2 for the proposed R5 zone and retain the 40ha minimum for the RU2 zone.
  • Amend the Height of Building Map to change the height of building map to part 9m.


Wollondilly Council at its meeting of 25 March 2025 voted not to support a draft planning proposal in The Oaks. The Local Planning Panel also considered a report on the proposal at its meeting of 12 December 2024 and agreed that it should not proceed.
