Draft Planning Proposal to Rezone Land - Land Adjoining Oakdale Sportsfields

Have your say on a draft planning proposal to rezone land in Oakdale to provide additional housing.
Morehuman Property Group Pty Ltd has lodged a draft Planning Proposal for Council's assessment for land adjoining the Oakdale sportsfields. This proposal seeks to rezone land on Barkers Lodge Road and Burragorang Road, Oakdale for residential development. If supported, the proposal would provide approximately 208 new low density residential lots.
Location
The Draft Planning Proposal affects the following land:
- 1838 Barkers Lodge Road, Oakdale (Lot 6 in DP 734561).
- 1475 and 1455 Burragorang Road, Oakdale (Lot 1 and Lot 2 in DP734561).
Proposed Amendments
The Draft Planning Proposal seeks to make the following amendments to Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011:
- Amend the Land Zoning Map from RU1 Primary Production to R2 Low Density Residential, C2 Environmental Conservation and C3 Environmental Management.
- Amend the Minimum Lot Size Map for subdivision from 16ha to 300 sqm (for land to be zoned R2), 40 ha (for land to be zoned C2) and 5 ha (for land to be zoned C3).
- Amend the Height of Building Map to introduce a maximum building height of 9m for land to be zoned R2.
It is important to note that Council officers have not assessed this proposal, nor has the elected Council considered or formed a view on the proposal.
This preliminary notification is to spread awareness of the proposal and to seek community feedback prior to the proposal being assessed and being reported to the Wollondilly Shire Local Planning Panel and Council. These assessment reports will include community feedback received during this preliminary notification period.
