Council’s Investment Policy serves as the framework for investing Council funds to achieve the best return available, while considering factors such as security and credit risk, and ensuring we have adequate cash reserves.
We have reviewed and revised our existing Investment Policy, and are now inviting feedback on the updated draft policy.
An Overview
The structure and content of our draft Investment Policy is closely aligned with the recommended Investment Policy, issued by the Office of Local Government (OLG) in its Investment Policy Guidelines document.
We have made several amendments to our policy, which include amendments to the Portfolio Credit Framework, Institutional Credit Framework and the Term to Maturity Framework, in addition to some minor administrative and formatting changes.
These changes increase the level of flexibility and the potential to increase investment returns, while managing risk appropriately.
