Draft Planning Proposal: Maldon Bridge Road and Staff Road, Maldon - Employment Lands

PRELIMINARY CONSULTATION

Council has received a Draft Planning Proposal for a site on Maldon Bridge Road and Staff Road, Maldon, to rezone the site and amend the minimum lot size. The intention of the Proposal is to:

  • allow the expansion of heavy industrial employment land adjacent to the existing Boral Cement and Quarries terminal facilities
  • align zoning with the existing Boral Concrete plant on Maldon Bridge Road
  • establish an environmental conservation zone for the dense native vegetation areas and gully leading to Stonequarry Creek

More formally, the proposal is to amend the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 and State Environmental Planning Policy (Sydney Region Growth Centres) 2006:

  • Rezone land from the existing RU2 Rural Landscape Zone to IN3 Heavy Industrial and E2 Environmental Conservation Zones.
  • Amend the minimum lot size controls from 100 ha to 5,000m2 for the heavy industrial zone.

Documents were available for viewing and feedback from 2 - 30 June 2021. Thank you for your interest and feedback on this project. We are currently considering your comments as part of the preliminary assessment which will be included in a report to the Local Planning Panel later this year.
