Draft Contributions to Kerb, Gutter and Footpaths Policy

Council is inviting feedback on our draft revised Contributions to Kerb, Gutter and Footpath Policy.

The Policy establishes Council’s position regarding seeking contributions from property owners toward the construction of kerb, gutter and footpaths along their property frontage, confirming that Council will not seek a contribution for residential and rural properties.

Contributions that may be sought from commercial or industrial properties for kerb and gutter fund a proportion of the total cost of the works with the remainder being funded through rates and other sources.

Summary of Key Changes

The key changes to the draft Policy are summarised below:

  • Updated format and order of information to reflect the current corporate Policy template.
  • Identifying that contributions are only sought for kerb and gutter in commercial and industrial zonings, and not sought for kerb and gutter in residential and rural zonings or footpaths in any zoning.
  • Clarifying that Council’s position is confirmed through the annual adoption of fees and charges.
