Comprehensive Review of Wollondilly Development Control Plan 2016
What is a Development Control Plan (DCP)?
A DCP is a document containing objectives and controls for development, which are used to guide the assessment of Development Applications.
The Wollondilly DCP 2016 applies to land covered by the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 (LEP). The LEP specifies land use zones, permissible and prohibited uses, and certain requirements such as height of buildings and lot sizes for subdivision.
The DCP contains detailed controls for a range of development types which are permissible under the LEP, such as industrial, residential and commercial development. The DCP specifies detailed requirements for these uses, such as car parking numbers, landscaping, building design and separation distance (e.g. setback) requirements.
Comprehensive Review of Wollondilly DCP 2016
Council is currently undertaking comprehensive review of the Wollondilly DCP 2016. This includes consideration of controls which are frequently varied, and where there are gaps in the current controls.
A Draft Wollondilly DCP will be prepared and will undergo further engagement in accordance with the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979.
The review of the Wollondilly DCP 2016 does not apply to DCPs relating to the Wilton or Greater Macarthur Growth Areas, as these growth areas are not within the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011.
