Community Sport and Recreation Needs Strategy
Thank you for your feedback on our draft Strategy addressing sport and recreation needs in the Wollondilly community.
Wollondilly’s population is growing rapidly and this creates both opportunities and challenges in managing the sport and recreation needs of our community. To address this, Council has developed a draft Community Sport and Recreation Needs Strategy.
The Strategy provides a framework, establishing best practice benchmarks and an action plan to meet the needs of the current and future population.
We consulted with user groups and the broader community to develop a draft Strategy for the next ten years, addressing the challenges of a changing community profile, and the pressures on existing community sport and recreation infrastructure.
The full version of the draft Strategy provides supporting rationale and a series of actions with corresponding timeframes, partners and estimated resource requirements.
The draft Strategy proposes investment in new and upgraded facilities across the Shire, from Warragamba to Yanderra, with a key focus being the growth areas which will house the majority of the Shire’s population in the years to come.
