In August 2025, the NSW Office of the Local Government (OLG) updated the Model Code of Meeting Practice, which is a template to guide local governments (councils) in NSW when drafting their own codes of meeting practice. Accordingly, Council has updated our Code of Meeting Practice and we are exhibiting the draft Code for public feedback.
The Code of Meeting Practice (Code) provides a uniform set of meeting rules for Council to help ensure more accessible, orderly, effective and efficient meetings.
A tracked version of the new draft Code is also available for viewing detailing the following:
Black - Mandatory provisions which must be adopted by Council
Red - OLG’s non-mandatory provisions proposed for adoption
Orange - Additional local provisions currently contained in Council’s existing Code of Meeting Practice and proposed to be retained.
